Trade rumour surfaces in Canucks campVANCOUVER (CP) -- There is speculation in Vancouver that Canucks' general manager Brian Burke's trip to Long Island to scout players for Monday's waiver draft and the Isles' desire to cut $4 million from their payroll means the Canucks and Isles could soon play Let's Make a Deal.
The subject of those rumours are goalie Felix Potvin and defenceman Rich Pilon, who would go to Vancouver for younger, inexpensive players.
Canucks management quickly dismissed that idea.
"Financially, you're not going to see us adding $4 million to the payroll," Canucks senior vice-president of hockey operations Dave Nonis told the Vancouver Province.
