Road to Super Bowl XXXVII Contest: Rules

  • Return to the contest homepage.

    1. No purchase is required. The contest commences at 12:00:01 p.m. EST on Monday, December 23, 2002 (the "Contest Start Date") and ends at 4:59:59 p.m. EST. on Monday, January 27, 2003 (the "Contest Closing Date").

    2. Contest is open to all individual legal residents of Canada, excluding residents of the province of Quebec, who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence. The following individuals are not eligible to enter: (i) Employees, officers, directors and agents of CANOE.ca and the National Football League - Canada ("NFL Canada") (collectively, the "Sponsors"), and their affiliated and related companies, advertising and promotional agencies; (ii) independent contest judges; and, (iii) individuals domiciled with any of such employees or contest judges. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited or licensing required.

    3. Enter online for a chance to win. To enter, log on to http://www.nflcanada.com follow the links for the Road to Super Bowl XXXVII Contest, complete the entry form (name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, and age), and click on the "submit" button to enter your contest ballot (the "Ballot") into the contest. Limit of one (1) Ballot per individual. The Ballot will be entered into the prize draw for which it is received (see prize and draw table below) and, if not selected in that prize draw, will be entered into any subsequent prize draws for this contest. Winner will be selected randomly.



    4. Upon submission of the completed Ballot, each entrant will also have an opportunity to earn a Bonus Ballot by providing the email address of, and sending an e-mail to, one or more of their friends or associates ("Email Contact(s)") who may be interested in entering the contest. The entrant will automatically receive one (1) Bonus Ballot for each Ballot that is submitted by one of their Email Contacts online (using the e-mail address you provided and not any other e-mail address) and received on or before the Contest Closing Date. Any eligible Bonus Ballot earned will be entered into the prize draw for the week in which the corresponding Ballot of the E-mail Contact is received (see Prize and Draw Table below) and, if not selected in that prize draw, will be entered into any subsequent prize draws. Only one (1) Bonus Ballot per unique Email Contact is allowed. If the same Email Contact is provided by more than one person, the entrant associated with that Email Contact's first entry into the contest will be credited with the Bonus Ballot associated with that Email Contact's entry.

    5. In order to be entered into any particular prize draw, all Ballots and Ballots from Email Contacts that trigger a Bonus Ballot must be received by 4:59:59 p.m. EST on the Friday before the Draw Date for that prize (see Prize and Draw table below). Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt. A maximum of one (1) Ballot per individual will be allowed, plus any Bonus Ballot(s) earned. Any entrants discovered to have entered more than one Ballot (excluding Bonus Ballots) will be disqualified from entry into the contest. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the entrant, the entry will be deemed to have been made by the holder of the e-mail account associated with the entry.

    6. All personal information obtained for this contest will be used only for the purposes of conducting the contest and as otherwise specified in these contest rules.

    Prizes and Draw:
    There are four (4) prizes (i.e. one (1) prize per week), as follows: two (2) Wilson Super Bowl XXXVII footballs (not game used), one (1) Super Bowl Helmet Display case and, one (1) signed Replica Mike Vanderjagt Colts jersey. Limit one (1) prize per individual. The total number of prizes available to be won will be reduced as they are claimed throughout the contest. All prizes are being supplied by the NFL. Prizes will be delivered to confirmed winners with 60 days of the contest closing date. Prizes must be accepted as awarded, and cannot be transferred, exchanged nor refunded, and are not redeemable for cash.

    7. If prizes are not claimed within 90 days of notification contest winner(s) will forfeit prizes.

    8. The potential winner of each prize will be selected in random draws held in Toronto, Ontario at approximately 12 noon EST on the Draw Dates as shown in the Prize and Draw Table, from among all entries received on or before 4:59:59 p.m. EST on the Monday before that Draw Date Chances of winning any prize depend on the number of eligible entries received between the Contest Start Date and 4:59:59 p.m. EST on the Monday before the Draw Date for that prize. Attempts will be made to contact each selected entrant via email for five (5) calendar days following the applicable Draw Date Each selected entrant will be required to correctly answer a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question, to be administered at a mutually convenient time by telephone or mail, and to otherwise comply with these contest rules in order to be confirmed as a winner Each selected entrant must complete and sign a declaration of eligibility as well as a liability and publicity release, confirming compliance with the contest rules and acceptance of the prizes as awarded and releasing Sponsors, the member clubs of the NFL, and each of their advertising and promotional agencies from any and all liability relating to the contest and prizes The completed and signed documentation must be returned to the sender no later than five (5) calendar days after receipt.     9. All entries become the property of Sponsors and no correspondence will be entered into except with selected entrants.

    10. By entering this contest, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of contest Sponsors and judges, which are final and binding on all entrants.

    11. Winners agree to allow the use of their name, voice and photo by Sponsors for promotional purposes without compensation.

    12. No responsibility is assumed by the Sponsors for lost, late, incomplete, garbled, destroyed or misdirected, entries or for any technical, hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed incomplete, garbled or deleted computer or network transmissions, even if they limit the ability to participate in this contest.

    13. Sponsors are not responsible for injury or damage which may be caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, to any person or property, from downloading material associated with the contest.

    14. Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the website or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. Sponsors further reserve the right to cancel, terminate, suspend or modify the contest at any time and in their sole discretion and without notice, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.

    15. The names of winners will be posted on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 in the Winners page of the contest on nflcanada.com.

    16. NFL Canada, NFL International, NFL Properties, the NFL, its Member Clubs and each of their respective affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and employees will have no liability or responsibility for any claim arising in connection with participation in this sweepstakes or any prize awarded.
