OTTAWA -- There is no need for the Supreme Court to rule on the legality of same-sex marriage because it has been decided, a national gay and lesbian group argued yesterday. As the high court began landmark hearings on the federal government's proposed same-sex marriage bill, the activist group Egale urged the court to concentrate only on the legislation, not on the constitutionality of gay unions.
