OTTAWA -- The prime minister has declared today a national day of mourning for victims of the Asian tsunami as he expressed condolences to Canadians who lost loved ones in the Dec. 26 disaster. The sadness Canadians feel in the aftermath of the tragedy is "immense," Paul Martin said yesterday. "To the families and friends of those whom we will remember and hope for this Saturday, your loss has touched us all."
