BOSTON -- Pedro Martinez was listed as day-to-day after missing his start last night against the New York Yankees with a mild back strain.

Martinez felt pain Monday when he was playing long-toss in the outfield before the opener of Boston's three-game series against New York, Red Sox manager Grady Little said.

Martinez is 4-2 with a 2.83 ERA.
