14TH STAGE 191.5 kilometres from Saint-Girons to Loudenvielle-Le Louron

Winner: Italian rider Gilberto Simoni in five hours, 31 minutes and 52 seconds.

How others fared: Alexander Vinokourov placed sixth, Lance Armstrong finished 11th and Jan Ullrich was 12th.

Yellow jersey: Armstrong still leads Ullrich by 15 seconds.

Next stage: Today's 15th stage sees the riders move deeper into the Pyrenees, with a 159.5-kilometre trek from Bagneres-de-Bigorre to Luz-Ardiden. The stage features a climb of 2,114 metres (9,976 feet).
