15TH STAGE 159.5 kilometres from Bagneres-de-Bigorre to Luz-Ardiden

Winner: Four-time champion Lance Armstrong, recovering from a fall, to win his first stage of the Tour in four hours, 29 minutes, 26 seconds.

How others fared: Spain's Iban Mayo placed second; Germany's Jan Ullrich, a Tour winner in 1997, finished third, and Kazhakstan rider Alexandre Vinokourov placed eighth.

Yellow jersey: Armstrong increased his overall lead over rival Ullrich to 67 seconds.

Next: Today is a rest day. Tomorrow's 16th stage is a 197.5-kilometre mountain route from Pau to Bayonne.
