Tea for mom
Eldon House is hosting a special Mothers' Day tea, today from 1-4 p.m. Visit Eldon House, walk through the gardens and then go to the interpretative centre for afternoon tea. Tea is $6 a person.
Marine art exhibit
The opening reception for for a new exhibit, Early Sail on the Great Lakes: The Marine Art of Peter Rindlisbacher, is today at 3 p.m. at Museum London. This selection of paintings, drawings and models highlights the career of a well-known marine artist, famous for his detailed and accurate portrayals of naval engagements of the War of 1812. Following opening remarks, Rindlisbacher will give a talk and tour of the exhibition, which runs until Aug. 31.
Walk for breast cancer
The Breast Cancer Society of Canada will present a Mother's Day Walk today to raise money. It will be held at Masonville Place starting at 11 a.m. Pledges can be handed in at registration prior to the walk at the Cleo Store in the mall. Call 667-2124.
The BEATles Goes On
Encore the Concert Band will perform The BEATles Goes On, today at 2 p.m. at Central secondary school. Tickets are $12 for adults or $10 for seniors and students at the door.
Intro to Hiking
The Thames Valley Trail Association will hold its second Intro to Hiking, today at 1:30 p.m., with a two-hour hike along the north branch of the Thames River between Adelaide Street and Highbury Avenue. Meet at the parking lot at the east end of Windermere Road. Call 434-6501.
Ingersoll painting exhibit

Bay of Love and Sorrows
The Bay of Love and Sorrows, a Canadian film about a catastrophic chain of events that rocks a community, will be shown today at Museum London. The film will be screened at 4 and 7 p.m. Tickets are available in advance at the museum and half-hour before show time.
Forest City road races
The Forest City Road Races will take place today, with all races starting and finishing at the T.D. Waterhouse Stadium at UWO. Reach the village through Fanshawe Conservation Area, off Clarke Road, just north of Huron Street. Standard admission rates apply.
- The Fanshawe Yacht Club open house will be held May 24 and 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fanshawe Lake. Experienced sailors will take visitors for short rides on the lake and information will be available for those interested in sailing. Call 451-8989.

- Celebrate International Museum Day May 18 from 1-4 p.m. at the opening of Thirty and Fabulous, the 30th anniversary exhibit at the Annandale National Historic Site, 30 Tillson Ave., Tillsonburg. It highlights some of the museum's most prized collections. Sunday hours are 1- 4 p.m.
- The Family YMCA of St. Thomas-Elgin hosts the Iron kYds Triathlon and the Try-A-Tri Triathlon On May 31 and June 1. The May 31 event for kids 3-12 takes place at 1 p.m. All entries received by May 21 will receive a souvenir T-shirt. On June 1, the Try-a-Tri Triathlon takes place at 7:30 a.m at the Y.
