What's hot?

TORONTO -- Salads and fries washed down with regular coffee are growing in popularity, according to the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association. In its annual market review, the CRFA lists the foods and beverages that are catching on and those items that are not.

What's growing? Poutine (A melange of french fries topped with fresh cheese curds and smothered with gravy). Also muffins, subs, bagels, juices, iced tea, chicken nuggets and bottled water. Here is what is slowing: cakes/pastry, rice, shakes/malts, pies, pudding, tomato/vegetable juice, cereal, Mexican, gelatine and mashed potato.
