THE PLAY: The Truth About Cinderella, by June Walker Rogers; music by Charles Strouse; lyrics by David Rogers; a Regina Mundi College production directed by Heather Weis; musical director: Bryan Malito; featuring Krista Holtby, Kim Prezednowak, Tika Kocha, Thomas Ketelaars. THE PLOT: In this satiric take on the classic fairy tale, chaos reigns in the castle as preparations are made for a grand ball. A cast of bizarre characters -- including a hygiene-obsessed Cinderella, two magic-making godmothers and a sparring royal couple -- complicate any hope for the traditional "happy ever after" ending.
QUOTE: "The lightness of the characters is a real joy in this musical comedy. Everything is upbeat, upside down and turned around. Even the issue of two families in disarray is spoofed." -- Director Heather Weis
