Sergei Kostitsyn named OHL Player of the Week

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Sergei Kostitsyn of the London Knights is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday April 13 after scoring four goals and seven assists for 11 points in four games.

Kostitsyn started the week with a pair of goals in a 5-1 win over the Owen Sound Attack in Game 4 of their Western Conference semi-final playoff series on March 12. He added four assists in a 6-5 win in Game 5 on March 14 and scored a goal and three assists to help the Knights close out the series in six games with a 5-2 win on April 15.

After leading all first year OHL skaters with 78 points in 63 games, Kostitsyn is second behind teammate Rob Schremp for the overall playoff scoring lead with eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points in 10 games. The 19-year-old from Novopolotsk, Belarus, has at least one point in the Knights 10 playoff games.
