OHL announces Performers of the Month

Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the Performers of the Month for October 2005.

OHL Player of the Month - Rob Schremp, London Knights
Schremp was named the OHL Player of the Month after scoring 14 goals and 27 assists to lead all OHL scorers with 41 points in 10 games. Schremp registered a point in nine of his 10 games played and in the nine games he did find the score sheet, never had less than three points. Over October Schremp had two game winning goals and five multi-goal games. Schremp was named the OHL Player of the Week on October 17 after a great week that included two goals and eight points in a win over the St. Michael's Majors. Schremp currently leads the OHL with 27 assists and is second in league scoring with 41 points.

OHL Goaltender of the Month - Ryan Daniels, Saginaw Spirit
Daniels was named the OHL Goaltender of the Month after posting a 5-0-0 record, along with a 1.57 goals against average and .955 save percentage in five games. Daniels allowed only two even-strength goals over the month and is now 7-0-0 on the season with a ..918 save percentage and a 2.79 goals against average.

OHL Rookie of the Month - Sergei Kostitsyn, London Knights
Sergei Kostitsyn was named the OHL Rookie of the Month after scoring nine goals and 12 assists to lead all OHL rookies with 21 points in 11 games. Kostitsyn had two multi-goal games and seven multi-point games over the month. Kostitsyn began his OHL career with a dominating effort when he picked up a goal and five assists in the season opener. Kostitsyn currently leads all rookie scorers and is tied for sixth in league scoring with 30 points.

OHL Defenceman of the Month - Peter Aston, Peterborough Petes
Peter Aston was named the OHL Defenceman of the Month after scoring three goals and 11 assists to help lead the Petes to the top of the OHL standings. Aston is currently on an eight game point streak and has 13 points over that span. Aston is tied for fourth in scoring amongst OHL defencemen with 16 points and is sixth amongst defencemen with a plus eight rating.
