Chad Painchaud Named the OHL Player of the Week
Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League announced today that Sarnia Sting forward Chad Painchaud is the OHL Player of the Week.
Painchaud, 19, recorded six goals and three assists in three games last week as the Sting went 2-1-0-0. The Sting are currently tied for fifth place in the Western Conference. Painchaud opened his week with a hat-trick and and two assists in an 8-3 win over the Oshawa Generals on Friday night and was named the First Star of the Game. Saturday night in a 3-2 shootout win over the Mississauga IceDogs, Painchaud had an assist and also scored a goal in the shootout. Yesterday in an 8-4 loss to the London Knights, the Sting forward contributed another hat-trick and was named the Second Star of the Game.
Painchaud, drafted in the fourth round by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft is currently tied for 11th in OHL scoring with 29 points.
