Bryan Bickell named the OHL Player of the Week
Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League announced today that Ottawa 67's left winger Bryan Bickell is the OHL Player of the Week.
Bickell, 19, scored five goals and three assists in three games last week as the 67's went 2-1-0-0. Ottawa is currently in third place in the Eastern Division with 22 points, four behind the second-place Kingston Frontenacs.
Bickell had a goal and two assists and was named the first star of the game in an 8-4 win over the Belleville Bulls on Friday night. Saturday in Guelph, he also had two goals and an assist in a 5-3 win over the Western Conference leading Guelph Storm. On Sunday, he contributed a goal and an assist in a 6-4 loss in Owen Sound.
Bickell, a 19-year-old native of Orono, Ontario, currently is third on the 67's in scoring with 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points in 24 games. He was selected by Chicago in the 2nd round, 41st overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
