OHL appoints new Director of Event and Information Services
The Ontario Hockey League today announced the appointment of Ian Ellis as its Director of Event and Information Services.
Ellis, a native of Stouffville, Ontario, was previously the Director of Corporate Sales, Merchandise and Game Day Operations for the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club of the OHL since 2002.
Ellis, 28, is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Kinesiology and Physical Education. He also achieved a Masters of Sports Management degree from the University of Windsor.
While at Laurier, he was a member of the baseball team and also was the marketing and promotions co-ordinator for the men's hockey team in 1999-2000. At the University of Windsor, he served as an event manager at the school from 2000 to 2002 after which he had internship with the Detroit Red Wings prior to joining the Spirit.
