    Dancers on thin ice?

By STEVE BUFFERY -- Toronto Sun
In response to concerns by French skating director Didier Gailhaguet, extra security has been provided at the world championship for the ice dance team of Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat.
Following the Nagano Olympics, several threats against the team were faxed to the French federation, while Peizerat was harassed anonymously on his cellular phone. Gailhaguet believes some of the threats came from Canadian fans.
Anissina and Peizerat were the dance team that was placed in the bronze-medal position at Nagano, ahead of Canadians Shae-Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz.
Many Canadian fans were outraged with the judging in Nagano, especially after many insiders, including former world dance-medallist Tracy Wilson, were given the exact order of finish before the competition started.
International Skating Union headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland received letters of protest in response to Bourne and Kraatz being left out of the medals in favor of Anissina and Peizerat.
In response to Gailhaguet's demand for extra security, United States Figure Skating Association officials contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
