South Korean midfielder Kim Nam-il will not play in third-place match

GYEONGJU, South Korea (AP) - Key South Korean midfielder Kim Nam-il, who is recovering from an ankle injury, will not play in the World Cup third-place match against Turkey on Saturday.

Both defender Choi Jin-cheol and forward Hwang Sun-hong are also considered doubtful to play, said coach Guus Hiddink.

Choi showed up for training Friday, but he worked off the pitch because of a painful ankle.

"Nam-il is impossible because he is still recovering from . . . the very nasty injury he got," Hiddink said. "The consequence is that there will be a few little changes in the starting lineup tomorrow."

Kim, a defensive midfielder, was replaced in the first half after a clash with defender Enrique Romero during the quarter-final match against Spain. He was ruled out from the semifinal match that South Korea lost 1-0 to Germany.
