Torrie Wilson

Torrie Wilson

REAL NAME: Torrie Wilson
5' 9", 133 pounds
BORN:July 24, 1975 in Boise, Idaho
NICKNAMES: Samantha

Among the most beautiful women on the WWE roster, Torrie Wilson has gained the attention of WWE CEO Vince McMahon, battled her fellow Divas inside the ring and out and graced the cover and pages of Playboy.

Wilson's wrestling debut came in 1999, playing Samantha, the young woman the NWO had hired to seduce David Flair into turning against his father, Ric Flair. Her initial stint with WCW was very brief, but she returned just a few months later, under her real name. She remained aligned with David Flair, and was in his corner when he defeated Dean Malenko to win the U.S. title at 1999's Bash at the Beach.

Soon, Wilson switched her alliances to Billy Kidman, Eddie Guerrero and the rest of the Filthy Animals, even going so far as to wrestle in a mixed gender match against Revolution. Then she was caught on the Kidcam together with Guerrero, leading to a feud between he and Kidman.

After disappearing from WCW TV, Wilson returned in early 2000, once again aligned with Kidman. The team of Kidman and Wilson would last for six more months (on-screen at least) before Wilson turned on Kidman during a match against G.I. Bro (Booker T) and later helped Hulk Hogan defeat her former charge.

Wilson was then aligned with Shane Douglas and teamed with "The Franchise" in several mixed-tag matches before being released from WCW at the end of 2000. Wilson wasn't out of wrestling for too long before she was signed by WWE in June 2001. Before the month's end, she appeared on Raw, with Vince McMahon all set to sign her to a contract and then get to know Torrie a little better, only to be caught with his pants down, literally, by wife, Linda. Little wonder that Torrie joined the Alliance, which battled McMahon throughout the rest of 2001.

Wilson also found herself battling the other WWE Divas, including Trish Stratus and Stacy Keibler to see who was the most dominant diva, in bikini contests, lingerie matches as well as more traditional singles and tag matches.

In late 2001, Wilson aligned herself with Tajiri, but Tajiri soon forced the lovely Diva to dress very conservatively and be subservient to him. It didn't take Torrie long to leave the Japanese buzzsaw behind.

Before she knew it, howeve, Wilson had her hands full with Dawn Marie. At first, Wilson and Dawn Marie clashed in regular matches, as well as bikini and lingerie contests. Soon, Dawn Marie made the feud between the two Divas more personal by hitting on Torrie's father, Al Wilson, to the point where Al proposed to Dawn Marie.

Dawn Marie offered to call of the wedding if Torrie came to a motel with her. Torrie complied by Dawn Marie went through with the wedding, only to have Al suffer a heart attack on their honeymoon. The "death" of Al Wilson didn't quite finish the feud, as Torrie defeated Dawn Marie at the Royal Rumble.

As 2003 began came news that Wilson would be on the cover of the May 2003 issue of Playboy Magazine (released on March 28th). However, the in-ring ceremony to commemorate the release of the magazine was spoiled by the return of Sable, with whom Torrie would feud for the next few months.

On July 11, 2003, even as Wilson teamed with Billy Gunn (laterKip James to feud with Jamie Noble and Nidia, Wilson married her long-time boyfriend Billy Kidman.

Ironically, as 2004 began, it was announced that Torrie would again pose for Playboy this time with former rival, and a former Playboy cover girl herself, Sable. The two would also team up to take on Jackie Gayda and Stacey Keibler at Wrestlemania XX with Wilson and Sable getting the win in a Playboy Evening Gown match.

The friendship between Sable and Torrie didn't last past the summer, with Sable getting a victory over Torrie at the Great American Bash.

After being fired by Kurt Angle then rehired by Teddy Long, Torrie continued to reign supreme as Smackdown's lead Diva, taking on Hiroko, Dawn Marie and the rest of the Smackdown Divas in bikini contests before battling newcomer Melina at the 2005 Great American Bash.

Although the alliance was formed by Smackdown, the team of Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle became best known after being traded to Raw on August 22, 2005. The pair quickly turned heel and aligned themselves with Victoria, targeting Diva Search winner Ashley, who received aide from Trish Stratus and later, Mickie James.

After Candice announced that she, too, would be appearing in Playboy, jealousy between the two Divas began to arise, with Candice attacking Torrie after her Playboy cover was revealed, leading to a Playboy Pillow fight (won by Torrie) at Wrestlemania 22.
