TSN takes over Brier final from CBC
EDMONTON (CP) -- TSN has taken over broadcast rights of Sunday's Labatt Brier final from CBC, which has been plagued by labour strife.A decision to shift Saturday's semifinal round coverage to TSN was made earlier this week.
The final will be played at 2 p.m. EST while the semifinal will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The men's final on CBC draws over a million viewers. TSN took over rights for the semifinal and final of the Scott Tournament of Hearts last month because CBC was unable to broadcast the games.
"CBC-TV Sports would like to thank The Sports Network for picking up the feed and broadcasting the event," said Alan Clark, head of CBC Sports. "We do, however, regret that not all Canadians will be able to see this Canadian classic."
TSN is available only to cable subscribers.
