    Sound advice from ladies' champ

By CON GRIWKOWSKY -- Edmonton Sun
Renee Handfield has some words of support for Ken Hunka.
The Alberta women's champion found the scene a bit dazzling at the recent Scott Tournament of Hearts.
Even though it's Hunka's turn to step into the Brier spotlight, Handfield believes he'll be able to handle it well.
"Just play your best and just give 'er,'' said Handfield last week in Charlottetown. "They've got a great team, so I'm hoping they do really, really well. We'll be rooting for them.''
Handfield knows Hunka is a cagey vet compared to her and his supporting cast has been through plenty of high-calibre competitions.
"I don't think (the learning curve) will be quite as bad for him,'' said Handfield. "Ken Hunka has a lot of experience.
"He's been around the curling scene a lot and he's been to a lot of the events. I haven't been to any events to watch, even one game. Even if you're at an event, you hear about stuff, so you kind of have an idea, so it's not quite as big a shock when it happens.''
