    Jason Parker

They say success breeds success. Jason Parker seems to be following in the strides of his champion teammate Neal Marshall in the 1,500 metres. Parker, a 22 year-old Yorkton, Sask., resident began last season grouped in the second seed of skaters on the World Cup. By the end of the campaign he was among the world's best. He earned one bronze on the World Cup and another third place finish at the world all- around championships. Parker's game plan is simple. He is aggressive right from the start and tries an establish his lap tempo at the 200 metre mark. He still feels he must gain a better lap speed. He said the lack of power at the end of his races may have cost him a couple of more medals last season.
