    French sweep snowboard slalom

     WHISTLER, British Columbia (AP) -- Nicolas Conte won the men's race and Karine Ruby the women's event Friday as France swept two snowboard World Cup slaloms.
     Conte, the current World Cup leader, won the men's event with a two-run time of 2 minutes, 28.40 seconds. Ruby won the women's race in 2:44.38.
