Engineers examine Anfield stadium after rocking movement

LIVERPOOL, England (AP) -- Engineers have moved into part of Liverpool's Anfield stadium to rectify a rocking movement in one of the stands.

The upper tier of the Anfield Road stand was seen to move during a game at the end of last season when supporters of visiting Celtic began jumping up and down at the same time.

Experts are examining the stand to see if anything needs to be done to strengthen it in time for Liverpool's home game against Bradford on Aug. 19, the opening day of the Premier League campaign.

But Liverpool municipal council, which is the licensing authority for the stadium, has ordered the top section be reduced to half capacity for Sunday's exhibition game against Italy's Parma as a precaution.
