    Marsh's head shaved

BRADFORD, England (AP) -- Former soccer star Rodney Marsh was shaved bald Saturday in front of thousands of jeering Bradford fans, taking his punishment for wrongly predicting the Bantams would be relegated from the English Premier League.

Marsh made a bold declaration late last season on Sky Sports television, where he works as a commentator, that he would shave his head if the struggling squad was not dropped to the first division.

Bradford barely avoided relegation, finishing fourth from last. The bottom three clubs are relegated each year.

Marsh -- a talented and flamboyant striker for Queens Park Rangers, Fulham and Manchester City during the late 1960s and early 70s -- marched out onto the pitch of Valley Parade shortly before the Bantams' match against Leicestor.

Fans erupted into boos that turned to cheers as Marsh, wearing a Bradford jersey, allowed a woman hairdresser to shave off all his hair with electric clippers.
