Juventus midfielder back in favor with Dutch coach

AMSTERDAM (AP) -- Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids will likely be on the Dutch squad for the World Cup finals in France after settling a long-simmering dispute with national coach Guus Hiddink.
Davids has not pulled on the famous orange shirt of the Netherlands since being kicked off the squad for dissent in the middle of the Euro 96 championships in England.
But Dutch Soccer Association spokesman Rob de Leede said today that Hiddink and Davids met last week in Turin, clearing the way for the gritty midfielder to return to the Dutch squad.
After a disappointing spell with AC Milan, the former Ajax star has regained his form at Juventus -- making it virtually impossible for Hiddink to ignore him as the Dutch prepare to take on Belgium, South Korea and Mexico in their World Cup finals qualifying group in France.
