Saturday, March 21, 1998Scotland's Hopkins to miss gameGLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -- An eye injury forced Leeds United midfielder David Hopkin out of Scotland's World Cup warmup against fellow qualifier Denmark Wednesday. Hopkin, who was injured playing for Leeds reserves against Birmingham in midweek, was ruled out after seeing a specialist. Blackburn striker Kevin Gallacher has pulled out of the game because of a persistent stomach strain and Rangers striker Gordon Durie is sidelined as he recovers from a serious head injury. Scotland manager Craig Brown, short of options in attack, likely will recall Scott Booth, who has been playing well for Dutch club Utrecht where he is on loan from Germany's Borussia Dortmund.
