*Reds trade RHP Aybar to Marlins for RHP Cordova*
    -------------------------------------------------

CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Righthander Manny Aybar joined his fourth
team in less than a year today when the Cincinnati Reds traded
him to the Florida Marlins for minor league righthander Jorge
    Cordova.

The Reds acquired Aybar from the Colorado Rockies on April 7 in
a trade for lefthander Gabe White. Aybar went a combined 1-2
with a 5.19 ERA in 33 games this season.

Aybar, a 25-year-old native of the Dominican Republic, pitched
for the St. Louis Cardinals last season and was shipped to the
Rockies in November in a multi-player deal that landed pitcher
    Darryl Kile in Missouri.

"Manny is a player we have liked a great deal in the past,"
Marlins general manager Dave Dombrowski said. "He is still a
maturing major league talent and he has a great arm. We are very
excited about his opportunities here with the Marlins."

Cordova was 6-7 with a 3.88 ERA with one save in 22 games,
including 15 starts, for Class A Kane County of the Midwest
    League.

The Reds also recalled righthander Rob Bell from Class AAA
Louisville of the Midwest League. Bell began the season with
Cincinnati and was 4-6 with a 5.28 ERA in 15 starts before being
demoted on June 25. He earned a return to the big leagues by
going 4-0 with a 3.73 ERA in six starts at Louisville.

Florida also designated reliever Ron Mahay for assignment. The
former replacement player was 1-0 with a 5.68 ERA in 18
    appearances.
