    (DUKE-BOSTON COLLEGE)

    Thursday, November 23, 12:29 AM
    (3) DUKE 67, (19) BOSTON COLLEGE 49
    -----------------------------------

CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Freshman Iciss Tillis
scored 10 of her 12 points in a decisive second half run,
helping No. 3 Duke pull away for a 67-49 victory over No. 19
    Boston College.

Alana Beard led the Blue Devils (5-0) with 18 points and five
steals, and Missy West added 10 points while Georgia Schweitzer
    dished out seven assists.

Becky Gottstein and Jamie Cournoyer scored eight points apiece
in the first half to keep the Eagles (2-1) close, but the Blue
Devils had too much in the second half.

Duke broke open the game with a 17-2 charge early in the second
    half, turning a one-point deficit into a 44-30 lead with 13:16
    left to play.

Tillis, the daughter of former boxer James "Quick" Tillis,
nailed two 3-pointers, made a pair of free throws and hit a
    layup during the run.

Beard's three-point play with 8:23 left gave the Blue Devils
their largest lead, 54-34, and the Eagles did not threaten
    thereafter.
