*Orange Bowl Classic headed back to Orange Bowl stadium*

    --------------------------------------------------------

MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Orange Bowl will be played in the stadium
of the same name in 1999 due to a scheduling conflict involving
the Miami Dolphins and Pro Player Stadium.

The game will be played January 2nd at 8 p.m. EST in the Orange
Bowl stadium, which was home to the game for its first 62 years
before moving to Pro Player Stadium for the January 1st, 1996
game between Florida State and Notre Dame.

Another game was played there on the final day of 1996, the
first time the Orange Bowl was contested before January, and
returned to normal at the start of 1998 at Pro Player Stadium.

It is a one-year arrangement, according to a contract with the
Orange Bowl Committee and the city of Miami. Pro Player Stadium
must give way first to the National Football League, which has
the right to schedule a wild-card playoff game there featuring
    the Dolphins.

Due to the number of factors involved, the Orange Bowl Committee
decided to be safe and switch the venue, instead of monitoring
    the progress of the Dolphins.

"This is the best solution for our ticket patrons, sponsors,
South Florida and the 1999 Fex Ex Orange Bowl," said Orange Bowl
Committee president Albert E. Dotson Sr. "We are happy to have
the Orange Bowl Stadium -- which has a rich tradition in both
college and professional football -- as the site of the 1999 Fed
    Ex Orange Bowl."

The most recent Orange Bowl to be played at the Orange Bowl
stadium was Nebraska's 24-17 victory over Miami on January 1st,
1995. Miami still plays its home games there.
