*Packers acquire RB-KR Milburn from Lions for 1999 draft pick*

The Green Bay Packers acquired running back Glyn Milburn, one of
the NFL's premier return specialists, from the Detroit Lions
today for a conditional 1999 draft pick. 

The 27-year-old Milburn spent the last two seasons with Detroit,
where he ranked 10th in the NFL in kickoff returns with a
23.9-yard average.  He also returned 47 punts for 433 yards, an
average of 9.2 yards. 

Milburn caught five passes for 77 yards last season, but was not
among the seven players who carried the ball for Detroit. 

A second-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 1993, Milburn broke
the Lions' club record for kickoff return yardage in 1996,
amassing 1,627 yards on 64 runbacks to eclipse the mark
established by Mel Gray. 

Milburn, a cousin of Olympic track gold medalist Rod Milburn,
led the NFL in kickoff returns for Denver in 1995 and was one of
only two players to rank in the top five in both kickoff and
punt returns.
