NFL PREVIEW (DALLAS-BALTIMORE)
Sunday, November 19, 7:27 AM
Dallas (4-6) at Baltimore (7-4) 4:15 pm EST
----------------------------------------------------------------
BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- The Baltimore Ravens begin a comfortable
stretch in their schedule today when they battle the Dallas
Cowboys for the first time in club history.
In the thick of the AFC playoff race, the Ravens play four of
their five remaining games at home beginning with this contest.
Baltimore, however, is just 2-2 at PSINet Stadium.
The Ravens' lone remaining road game is against Arizona on
December 17.
Baltimore won its biggest game of the season last Sunday in
Tennessee, pulling off a 24-23 upset of the Titans. The Ravens
stopped the Titans' NFL season-high eight-game winning streak
while also handing them their first loss at Adelphia Coliseum.
Making his third straight start since replacing Tony Banks at
quarterback, Trent Dilfer tossed a two-yard touchdown pass to
Patrick Johnson with 25 seconds remaining to give the Ravens the
win over Tennessee.
Dilfer has won two of his three starts and helped the Ravens
pull within 1 1/2 games of Tennessee in the AFC Central.
Baltimore could turn its running game loose in this contest
against a Cowboys defense that ranks last in the league against
the run. Rookie Jamal Lewis has rushed for 301 yards and one
touchdown in Baltimore's last three games.
Following a pair of overtime losses, the Cowboys got back into
the win column last week with a 23-6 victory over the Cincinnati
Bengals.
Troy Aikman completed 24-of-37 passes for 308 yards and a
touchdown as Dallas won for just the second time in five games.
It was Aikman's first 300-yard passing game since he threw for
362 yards in a 41-35 overtime win over the Washington Redskins
in the 1999 season opener.
James McKnight, the Cowboys No. 1 receiver with Joey Galloway
and Rocket Ismail out for the remainder of the season, had six
catches for 164 yards and a touchdown in the win over the
Bengals.
After playing one of the league's most physical teams, Dallas
has a short turnaround before hosting the Minnesota Vikings on
Thanksgiving.
