AUTO RACING NOTESaturday, August 25, 2:54 PM*Formula One ambassador Ken Tyrrell dead* ----------------------------------------- LONDON (Ticker) -- Ken Tyrrell who founded the Tyrrell Racing Formula One Team in 1970m died of an illness Saturday at his home in Surrey, England. He was 77. Tyrrell was the owner who launched the career of Formula One three-time champion Jackie Stewart in the 1960s. Stewart started in Formula 3 in 1964 and raced for Tyrrell until 1973. "My heart is deeply saddened by the passing of a great friend," Stewart said. "Without Ken Tyrrell, I will not be where I am today." After the 1997 season, Tyrrell sold his team to British American Tobacco and retired from Formula One in early 1998 after a dispute over the driver lineup.
