How To Enter

Only one entry per person.

It is FREE to play the official "Super Bowl Total Yards Contest" as there is no purchase necessary. Enter online at www.slam.ca/SuperBowlXXXV/contest.html.

Contest is open to residents of Canada, (excluding Quebec) except where prohibited by law.

Contestants must be 18 years of age or older.

Complete the Super Bowl Total Yards contest on-line registration form using your CANOE ID. (If you have previously played any SLAM! Sports games such as Grand SLAM! Baseball, Against the Spread, The Radically Canadian Pigskin Challenge or Speed Stick Hockey, you may use your existing CANOE ID. If you have not played these games, YOU MUST apply for a CANOE ID registration username).

Contest Entry Deadline: You can enter the contest at any time between January 22, 2001 and 5:55 p.m. ET January 28, 2001.

How To Play

Select the total number of yards you think each team will accumulate in Super Bowl XXXV in each of the following 6 categories; Rushing yards, Passing yards and Kicking Return yards (Kickoff + Punt return).
In each category we will take the difference between your selection in that category by that team and the actual total number of yards that team accumulated.

Your overall Super Bowl Total Yards contest score will be the total difference of all six of your selections.

1) How many total RUSHING yards will the Baltimore Ravens (AFC Champ) accumulate in Super Bowl XXXV?
(FYI - Baltimore had 110 total rushing yards in the AFC Championship game against Oakland)

2) How many total RUSHING yards will the New York Giants (NFC Champ) accumulate in Super Bowl XXXV?
(FYI - New York had 138 total rushing yards in the NFC Championship game against Minnesota)

3) How many total PASSING yards will the Baltimore Ravens (AFC Champ) accumulate in the Super Bowl XXXV?
(FYI - Baltimore had 172 total passing yards in the AFC Championship game against Oakland)

4) How many total PASSING yards will the New York Giants (NFC Champ) accumulate in the Super Bowl XXXV?
(FYI - New York had 380 total passing yards in the NFC Championship game against Minnesota)

5) How many total KICKING RETURN (Kickoff plus Punt return) yards will the Baltimore Ravens (AFC Champ) accumulate in the Super Bowl XXXV?
( FYI - Baltimore had 103 total kicking return yards in the AFC Championship game against Oakland)

6) How many total KICKING RETURN (Kickoff plus Punt return) yards will the New York Giants (NFC Champ) accumulate in the Super Bowl XXXV?
(FYI - New York had 18 total kicking return yards in the NFC Championship game against Minnesota)


PLEASE NOTE: You may select a negative number for the total yards in any of the categories.

PLEASE NOTE: The Super Bowl Total Yards contest deadline is posted as 5:55 p.m. ET on Sunday January 28, 2001. In the event the game should start prior to the entry deadline originally posted then the deadline can be changed by the contest operators to the earlier start time. Therefore it is incumbent upon participants to check game time in the event the game is re-scheduled. Remember you can make your selections once we post the game form and you can submit changes to these selections up until the entry deadline.

Incomplete Game: No prizes will be awarded in the " Super Bowl Total Yards Contest" in the event the Super Bowl XXXV is not completed.

Once you submit your selections for all six questions you will be eligible for the Super Bowl Total Yards contest. Please wait for a confirmation page of your selections to ensure they are correct and they were accepted.

Once you have submitted your selections you can change them at any time. The last change you make before the entry deadline is the official submission for the Super Bowl Total Yards contest.

Once the game deadline has passed you cannot change your selections.

Before awarding any prize the entrant must answer a skill-testing question. If the entrant does not answer the question correctly than the next entrant, based on the same criteria of determining a winner, will be asked a skill-testing question. This will be done for each prize until the prize is awarded.

How to win

The top 5 Overall entries will win prizes. Entries will be listed top to bottom by using the following criteria, in the order listed, until all ties are broken:
1. The entry that has the lowest cumulative difference in total yards after adding all 6 categories of total yard differences together.
2. The entry that is closest to the total number of rushing yards that the winning team of Super Bowl XXXV accumulates.
3. The entry that is closest to the total number of passing yards that the winning team of Super Bowl XXXV accumulates.
4. The entry that is closest to the total number of kicking return yards that the winning team of Super Bowl XXXV accumulates.
5. The entry that is closest to the total number of rushing yards that the losing team of Super Bowl XXXV accumulates.
6. The entry that is closest to the total number of passing yards that the losing team of Super Bowl XXXV accumulates.
7. The entry that is closest to the total number of kicking return yards that the losing team of Super Bowl XXXV accumulates.
8. A draw between all tied entries.

Please Note: The Winning team in Super Bowl XXXV will be the team that scores the most points in Super Bowl XXXV and is declared the winner.

2nd through 5th place - One each, RCA 36 inch digital high-resolution monitor-receiver (ARV CDN $4,000).
6th place - One RCA Lyra (TM) personal digital player CDN (ARV $400).

Terms and Conditions

CANOE, and any organization (directly or indirectly) associated with CANOE, is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind; lost or unavailable network connections; failed, incomplete, misdirected, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, or any other situation that may limit a registered player's ability to compete in the " Super Bowl Total Yards Contest".

The Game
The "Super Bowl Total Yards Contest" is a way for one to test one's own prognostication skills when it comes to selecting the total yards of various categories. The Super Bowl Total Yards Contest is provided solely for entertainment purposes or as a pastime.

Winners are responsible for all federal, provincial and local taxes levied on the prizes. Winners may be required to provide a social security or tax identification number for tax purposes.

Winners grant CANOE the right to use their names in advertising and promoting the game without further compensation.

Eligibility

No purchase necessary. This contest is open only to legal residents of Canada. Void in Quebec and in other jurisdictions where prohibited by law. Must be 18 years of age or older to be eligible to play. Employees of the CANOE Limited Partnership, Fantasy Sports Services Inc., the National Football League or any subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, promotion or publicity agencies, or members of their immediate families, are not eligible to win.

If you reside outside Canada, or an eligible jurisdiction you may play the game and have your place noted in the standings however, you will not be eligible to win a prize. This game is void where prohibited by law.

The winner, no matter where he/she resides, must first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone at a mutually convenient time. If the winner is unable to correctly answer the skill-testing question then he/she forfeits the prize and the skill-testing question will be administered to the contest runner-up.

Conditions

In any dispute, CANOE will decide the issue in a manner which, in its sole opinion, is the fairest to all parties concerned. All decisions by CANOE will be final and binding on all parties.

By entering the contest, players agree to abide by these rules. Any violation of the rules is cause for voiding a player's entry for a given week. Contestants agree to hold CANOE, Fantasy Sports Services inc. and the National Football League harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this game.

CANOE reserves the right to amend or alter the rules to the game at any time. Moreover, CANOE reserves the right to cancel the game at any time.

The odds of winning will depend upon the number of entrants and the prognostication skills of the entrants.
