The Day Oners
They were part of the dream that began November 1, 1971, and they're still part of The Sun team 30 years later:
BAND OF BROTHERS AND SISTERS ... Eleven of the original 62 Day Oners who trusted Peter Worthington, Doug Creighton and Don Hunt in their dream to produce Toronto's first daily tabloid paper are still with "The Little Paper That Grew." From left to right, top row: Bruce Borland (pressman); Paul Gillespie (pressman); Sherry Johnston (Lorrie Goldstein and Andy Donato's assistant); Christina Blizzard (Queen's Park columnist); Glen Woodcock (associate editor); Mary Zelezinsky (business office) and Jim Thomson (art director). Second row: John Downing (former editor); George Gross (corporate sports editor); Andy Donato (corporate art director) and Kathy Brooks (entertainment editor). Front row: Worthington and Creighton. Missing from picture: Bob MacDonald and Doug Fisher (both columnists).
