British singer Rita Ora slept on a beach during a vacation as a teenager because she was too poor to afford a hotel room.
The How We Do (Party) hitmaker, 22, was holidaying in Barcelona, Spain with her sister, but the pair did not have enough cash to stay anywhere - so they simply bedded down by the sea.
Ora tells Australia's Kyle and Jackie O radio show, "I was on holiday in Barcelona when I was 17, with my older sister. I was on the beach and I actually had no money, so I slept on the beach for two nights!
"I slept on top of my suitcase. But I had the best time! Even now I can stay in hotels, nothing can beat that experience on the beach. I made friends with everyone; there were a lot of people who were sleeping on the beach! I dug a little hole as my toilet, and there was my home!"
