Pop stars One Direction are to head out on a world tour - as waxwork dummies. Bosses at London's Madame Tussauds have responded to overwhelming public demand to feature the 'What Makes You Beautiful' hitmakers in their display and the figures will be unveiled in the city next month. The waxworks will then embark on a global trek to Madame Tussauds branches in New York and Sydney, Australia later this year. Bandmember Harry Styles tells Reuters, "We're just kind of a bit overwhelmed. We've been to Madame Tussauds and seen the kind of people who are in there. It's crazy to think that we will (be) up there with them." Madame Tussauds' Global Head of Marketing, Liz Wells, adds, "We have been overwhelmed by requests for us to feature One Direction. The boys have been top of the most wanted personalities list in London, New York and Sydney for the last 12 months, so we are delighted we can now satisfy public demand by bringing their figures to each of these cities in a special 'world tour', which will eventually take in more locations." Last year, the band posed as statues in the Madame Tussauds museum in London before springing to life to scare unsuspecting fans for U.K. TV series Surprise Surprise. The band's wax figures will be on display in London from April 18 to July 11, in New York from July 19 to October 11 and Sydney from October 24 to January 28.
