An exhibition dedicated to Bruce Springsteen is to open in Australia this week to celebrate The Boss' first shows Down Under in a decade.

The rock veteran will kick off his Wrecking Ball gigs in Brisbane on March 14, marking his first tour of the country since 2003, and a special exhibit will be launched in Sydney on the day of the first concert.

From Darkness To A Dream - Images Of Bruce Springsteen features photographs documenting the rocker's long-running career and it will open at the Blender Gallery on Thursday.

The exhibition will also show off behind-the-scene shots of many of Springsteen's most famous album covers, and runs from 14 March until April 20.

The Boss will play three shows at Sydney's Allphones Arena starting on March 18.
