Q: Is there a resource that keeps track of the burial sites of dead celebrities? We'd like to visit Los Angeles and would particularly like to drop by Jack Lemmon's grave. A. LETOURNEAU, HAMILTON
In nearby Glendale, Calif., Forest Lawn Cemetery (1712 South Glendale Ave.) is another burial ground noted for its famous residents, including Clark Gable, Jimmy Stewart, and Jean Harlow. The 121 hectares of rolling hills and mature trees, is dotted with grandiose sculptures, quaint chapels, grand tombs and shrines. More than a million people visit yearly. In addition to funerals, Forest Lawn is also known for its celebrity marriages. Be sure to pick up a map of the grounds at the information kiosk at the entrance. You won't find celebrity names on it but you will find street names to help you get around. There are more than 20 cemeteries in Hollywood and surrounding area. For visitor information on anything related to Hollywood, visit seemyla.com, the official website of the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. In addition, I have found findagrave.com very helpful in tracking down the final resting places of the stars. It has listings for more than 12 million gravesites in the world.
