Compared with last month's rates, the average price for a double room has dropped in most big European cities, according to the monthly Relaxnews-trivago index published on Friday, December 7. In Barcelona, Brussels and Istanbul, rates dropped by more than 10 percent.

As is often the case, Geneva's hotel rates are the most expensive in the list (€211), followed by London (€186), Paris (€162) and Venice (€120). Prices were static in Berlin and Dublin.
