A survey of 1,013 Canadian women has found the majority think sex is that much hotter when on vacation.

According to the poll, conducted by IPOS Reid on behalf of vacation site Tripcentral.ca, 53% of respondents said sex was better on holiday than at home. When asked what lead to the improved sexual experience, women said less stress (28%), more relaxation (27%) and the romantic setting (16%) all helped boost the mood.

For 29% of respondents, their vacation offered too much to see and do to notice any improvement in the bedroom.

"Releasing our final survey results near Valentine’s Day seemed appropriate," said tripcentral.ca president Richard Vanderlubbe in a press release. "In the dead of winter when sun vacations are on Canadians’ minds, it’s interesting to explore the motivations and needs for couples to get away, recharge and reconnect."

Tripcentral.ca previously released a portion of the survey results which indicated 43% of Canadian women were open to getting frisky outside their hotel rooms when on vacation. The beach was the most fantasized about location for sex outside the room, with 35% of women saying they wanted to get amorous on the sand and 20% saying they already had.
