Starting Tuesday, Eurostar personnel are wearing a brand new uniform design, the third since the launch of the high-speed train through the Chunnel in 1994.

The new Eurostar uniforms maintain the color scheme of the trains linking the UK to France and Belgium: navy, sky blue and yellow. According to the rail operator, the new uniforms pave the way for the new Eurostar trains, which will have a sleek design to match these elegantly tailored outfits.

The launch of the new uniforms kicks off Eurostar's 20th anniversary celebrations. To commemorate the event, Eurostar even commissioned uniforms for the nine-meter statue "The Meeting Place" in St. Pancras International Station. British stylist Maggie Cooke used over 95 meters of cloth to dress the statue's two figures in gigantic versions of the uniforms.

The rail operator redesigns its employees' uniforms once per decade. The previous design dated to 2004.

The first official Eurostar journey was taken on May 6, 1994 by Queen Elizabeth II. The line was inaugurated in the presence of the French president at the time, François Mitterrand.
