Passengers got quite a scare Wednesday when a man on their flight sneezed and declared "I have Ebola" - as a joke.

Health officials in haz-mat suits escorted the man from US Airways flight 845 Wednesday when it arrived in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from Philadelphia, the local NBC affiliate reports.

Passenger Patrick Narvaez captured the confusion on video.

"I need everybody to sit down. I need your attention. I've done this for 36 years, I think the man that has said this is an idiot," a flight attendant tells the passengers.

Many of them can be seen taking cellphone photos and videos of the blue-suited health team as they make their way through the cabin to escort the prankster off.

"It was later confirmed that the passenger was never in Africa and after two hours we were finally able to get off the plane," Narvaez wrote in the caption to his video, posted on YouTube.
