Good news for spring revelers: According to travel experts, ticket and hotel prices to some of the most popular spring break destinations across the US, Mexico and the Caribbean are more affordable this year than last.

So says Expedia, after looking at airfare and hotel prices over March and mid-April, the typical vacation times for families, college students, and empty nesters.

Travelers looking for more than just a sun-soaked holiday may also want to consider booking a European vacation, given the strength of the US dollar compared to the dipping euro.

Average ticket prices to Mexico are down by as much as 18 percent for Acapulco, while room rates at hotels in Orlando, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Cancun are up to 40 percent off compared to 2014, reports Expedia.

Meanwhile, US News & World Report picked its favorite three spring break destinations for 2015, advising travelers to hit up sun-soaked destinations like Daytona, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Cancun -- recurring favorites for their sandy beaches, plethora of activities and balmy spring temperatures.
