Regina Rams vs. Ottawa Gee Gees Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000 at SkyDome. Kickoff at 4:00 p.m. ET
LIVE CHAT: Ottawa Gee-Gees' coach Marcel Bellefeuille on Saturday's Vanier Cup match vs. the Regina Rams. Read the transcript.
Bellefeuille's GGs realize their dream
By BRUCE GARRIOCH -- Ottawa Sun
The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees arrived home to little fanfare; they jumped off the bus and went separate directions to catch a nap before gathering at a downtown establishment later last night for a celebration.
You'd think a school which had just won a national championship for the first time in 25 years would be waiting with open arms for its football heroes, but only a few friends and family gathered as two buses pulled up from Toronto.

Gee-Gee whiz kid
By MIKE KOREEN -- Toronto Sun
Phill Cote aced his final exam.
The dynamic Ottawa Gee-Gees quarterback capped his university career with an eye-popping performance in his team's 42-39 win over the Regina Rams in the 36th Vanier Cup game yesterday at the SkyDome.
A crowd of 18,209 watched the Rams fight back from a 35-10 halftime deficit to make the game interesting, but Cote's dominance in the first half proved to be the difference.

Early hole too deep for rallying Rams
By MIKE KOREEN -- Toronto Sun
It was a familiar scenario for the Regina Rams. Not many teams would have much hope after being outscored 35-10 in the first half, but the Rams seem to thrive when their backs are against the wall.
Unfortunately for the Rams, this deficit was too big to overcome as they fell 42-39 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the Vanier Cup game yesterday at the SkyDome.

Cup caps Cote's career

Toronto -- There are some players that you just can't help but wish good things for.
Phill Cote is one of those guys.
For five years, he gave his heart and soul to the University of Ottawa and yesterday he got the sendoff he desired and deserved, leading the Gee-Gees to their first Vanier Cup victory in 25 years.
