That Herman Munster sure is a steal. That 39th ranked GAA and 32nd ranked SP is just highway robbery. Good job BB. But only in TO could a guy with stats this horrible actually be the best goalie on the team! Incredible. Ev keeps chirping about 'just wait till next year when the Leafs have all this money to spend'. Well curling boy, BB had a ton of cap space this year and wasted it on Komi, Beauch, Herman, Orr. He also traded Kubina for Exelby, in what is the worst trade of the off season. Do you think by some miracle that BB is going to find a brain over the summer and actually figure out how to sign good players? He is being exposed as the fraud many of us said that he was.
AND THE BOSTON BRUINS, WITH THE FIRST OVERALL PICK, PROUDLY SELECT, FROM THE WINDSOR SPITFIRES, TAYLOR HALL...

Bob, I hear ya...No matter the stink, sh_t is still sh_t. No matter the pile, the size of the pile, or the colour...sh_t is still sh_it! Whether that crap is in MTL, or whether it's in Toronto, when comparing crap with more crap, it still equals...CRAP. More proud moments for hockey fans in Eastern Canada. At least, Ottawa beat the defending Stanley Cup champs and soundly at that.

The Monster in his 10 NHL starts, has had 4 great games (2 or less goals), 2 average games (3 goals), and 4 bad games (4+ GAA).
For someone who has never played at the NHL level before... i'm not worried at all. After another 20 or so games are started... we'll really see who the real Gustavson is.

Actually Wes your comments do make BB look like a patoot to date. I cringed when he traded two first rounders for Kessel.
I mean its deja vu for Leafs fans seeing the first drafts traded.
Kessel looks like the real deal but will he mean the Leafs lose out on a no.1 over all. That would not be good.
Suddenly Gustafson looks like a stinker. He's just kaput. I didn't see that happening. I have no idea what is going on in his head but he clearly looks like he has lost his confidence and I am not sure if its Allaire or not.
I have no idea what BB does but then I have no idea what BG is gonna do either.
BB is only in year one-he has time to be a dummy but BG is surely a lameduck who feels like Ricciardi at this point.
I mean he and Martin must know the roster they have is dead in the water and the trap is a failure.
No one expected anything in Toronto, but in Montreal I genuinely think Habs fans will by Christmas have had enough.
I wonder though if Montreal has grown used to loser teams year after year. I wonder. A team this bad 5 years ago would have led to firings already. Its kind of hard for BG to dump Martin.
So the question is to shake up the team do you dump BG before the end of the year and signal to the roster that since he's gone no one is safe? Who would you bring in?
How many bilingual capable GM's are out there who could handle or would want to handle Montreal?
It literally took a Stanley cup champion GM and turned him into a shell of a loser.
I am going to phone Venus and go play hand ball with her get my mind off hockey.

He is not a kid. He is 25 years old. Look at his style. He seems completely lost out there. Caught out of position more often than not. Terrible rebound control. Not saying he can't turn it around, but I have not been impressed so far.

What does age have to do with it? Doesnt matter if the guy is 18 or 35... its his first ever season in the NHL. Different style of play than in those Euro leagues where hes played from a kid to now... so will take some transition time.

That describes the 4 bad games he's had. In the 4 great games, he seemed like a seasoned veteran, was in position more often than not, and had great rebound contol.
As i said... it will take a lot more than only 10 games to see what kind of goalie he is.

Shouldn't a guy have to prove himself in the big leagues before he has a nickname? It is becoming embarrassing for the guy. It's like having a guy playing AAA ball nicknamed 'slugger' who comes up to the bigs and bats .124 for the year with no HR's, yet is still called 'slugger' by the media. I don't care what he did in some Euro minor pro league to get this name, but unless they mean that he has been scary bad, he and the media should drop the nickname.

westy mentioned the rebound control and that is likely his #1 problem. Also likely the result of the league he came from.
In the NHL you need to have rebound control because as soon as the shot comes in, other forwards are crashing the crease looking for the easy put-in.
In the Sissy, I mean Sweedish, league there is no aggresion to drive towards the net (unless one of the d-men is bent over) so there is no problem with rebound control.
