 Topic: It's Official: The Laff's Are Dead Last!

Okay,
Now that the Laff's are officially the worst team in the NHL, I thought it only proper that a thread be started which documents for posterity's sake these trying times in Laff Nation. It has been decreed that this thread will stay at the top of the forum until such a time that the Laff's pull themselves out of the cellar (could be a very long wait).
I don't know about the rest of you but I was able to catch only the last period of last nights tilt, but what I saw brought a big smile to my face. A meltdown of monumental proportions which crushed the hearts of the Laff players, coaches and fans alike. As much as I bemoan the fact that my Habs reek of excrement this year, it's nice to know that they will never be as bad as this Laff's team.
Feel free to add your thoughts, opinions and antecdotes on the Laff's demise here. This is meant as entertainment for all. God knows you Laff fans could use some after following this team.

The best was watching White crap himself on the bench after the Canes tied it with 2 seconds left. He knew that they were done after that. The ending to the book had already been written. Such is the culture in LOSERVILLE.
Gustavsson has only played a few games and he's in stick smashing mode. Guess what Gussy: it's only going to get worse as the season drags on and you get more tired. The funny thing is, he CHOSE to go to Toronto. What an idiot. He deserves all the crap that he gets..as does Komi.
Kessel and Stepper whiffed in the shootout.
Leafs have minimal skill, no coaltending and an overrated coach and GM.

Poppa... after 4 straight years of losing and not making the playoffs... this isn't exactly big news to any Leaf fan.
As i've said before, BB has stated this team is a one capable of making the playoffs. His big fat ego will simply not let him stand by and watch them sit at the bottom of the standings... else he'll be considered a colossal failure this year. Im expecting a few moves to be happening in the very near future.

Come on RAM ... did you or your bretheran really think that the Laffs would be sitting deadlast at the quarter pole of the season way back in September? Remember that stellar pre-season the Laff Nation was glowing about. Nothing but the playoffs was the talk then. Let's be honest then, you were all filled with hope after listening to the soothing voice of your King Burke. Only to have your hopes dashed and dreams squashed.
Speaking of the Messiah, I noticed he was conspiculously absent last night. That's too bad, it would have made for a great camera pan when the Canes tied it up with 1 second remaining. The term cranial detonation comes to mind ...
... now where is that Evan fella? This is almost too easy.

Nope. Nobody predicted that.
Last year was a complete rebuild... and i predicted a drop in points.
This year i thought they would get better in points, and finish somewhere around 16-20th in the league. So far not looking that way. I'll be the first to proclaim BB a failure if he cant turn the season around.
But as i said... going into a 5th season of losing and no playoffs on the horizon... we're used to it! Apathetic acceptance kinda describes it.

The guy I feel sorry for on the leafs is Ian White. A good western boy, who always seems to get the short end of the stick at the beginning of each year, when the laffers sign all their "high priced defensive help", and he's supposed to be done. But then he always proves himself to be their best defenceman by far. He doesn't deserve this.

White had a good game. He made an open hit on Cole and sent him somersaulting to the ice; Cole got up to challenge him and White beat him to a pulp and then he scored late in the game. On the down side; he was called for a double minor, mid way through the third for high sticking when the replay clearly showed it was a Cane player that was the culprit. All in all... he played well. I think he was a +2.

Dont think that is BB's style... can't recall if he bought out many contracts while he was with the Ducks or Nucks.
I think he'll send some guys down to the minors possibly exposing them to the waiver wire... or make a trade.

I guess that Mikey Komisarek picked a good time to be on the mend: He'll miss the severing butcher knife coming from King BB The Slash.
In defence to Wilson, you can only create with what you're given for the ingredients. If you're given 1" thick steaks, a nice marinade, green peppers and onions to stir fry in the steaks' juices after, peppercorns, new potatoes, and peaches and cream corn on the cob...Now your cooking with gas!
But if you have to make miracles with baloney, which is already expensive enough per lb. for chicken lips and pigs feet...then you get an expensive fried baloney sandwich.
Same goes for Jacques Martin in MTL. We were promised excellent A-1 steaks and sausages for this year's menu.All we got were a few cocktail weeners, some tough old horse meat (Gill and Spotcheck), and then, got fed more "baloney".

This board is always dominated by Toronto Maple Leaf discussions. Why?
The Habs are playing their worst hockey in years and I can't stand watching them and what has happened to their continuous years of loserville and you expect me to dwell on other putridness?
Why?
If I am an Oiler fan I am concened with injuries, if I am a Calgary fan I am wondering is this their year, if I am a Vancouver or Ottawa fan I am wondering what the phack another year of nothing....
Then there is the fact that I believe Shae Lyne Bourne proved she is still hot and Stephane Richer and Claude Lemieux were gay as everyone knew,not to mention the hot and cold Raps and speculation on whether Pat Gillick is coming back and whether the Doc is being traded and whether the Als will be the only team in Montreal to ever win a cup of any kind again and whether that even matters.
Also I haven't heard from Venus in awhile and Next American Model is over so I feel lost.
So no I do not care about the Leafs.

the coach is given a better line up than last year
a better goalie
and a sniper........and more size and experience
yet he is doing worse with it.
FIRED anywhere else.....he is BB's buddy and he is coaching the American Olympic team because he is BB's buddy, and he's got a long term deal because he is BB's buddy...............Gretz tried hiring all his buddies when he got to Phoenix....how did that work out.
Wilsons team has won 3 games in 2 months..........it says here that even if had a not one single win this season his job as head of the team is safe.
GOOD LUCK with that kind of managing.
Either Wilson is doing a brutal job of coaching (3 wins) Or BB did a brutal job with the dozen new players. It's one or the other.
