Topic: Habs Stun Caps

Message:
Led by their young emerging superstar netminder, the undermanned Habs went into Washington and upset the team many have pegged to win the SC this year. Price was once again brilliant in leading his team to victory. What a goalie. By the way, how did Herman do last night?

Habs you really are a pom pom girl. A win is a win for you. You take any win that comes your way right?

Wrong. Montreal could have easily lost as they won collapsing in the last minutes as usual as they do game in game out because of the putrid defence and Price had the goal post to the right on his side last night right when he needed it.

Price is taking a lost of crap talk and it is about as pointless as the crap talk on Schenn. These are guys that need time to develop.

Price will blow hot and cold all year but he needs goalposts because he will not get any help from his horrible defense and the trap is once again the reason the Habs with I think the exception of 3 games this year have won or lost all games by a goal.

For a true Habs fan that is sheeyit. Its unacceptable. Its a below average team that when it does win flukes it out and does not do so convincingly.

You Habs are from a generation where winning a game is orgasmic. In my generation winning a game was expected, just a fact, and was supposed to be done with enthusiam and convincingly and a cheap or fluke win or a loss was considered unacceptable. Some of us still feel that way.

Lapierre got a bone head penalty and Price lost his stick and if it were not for the goal post it was another blown game.

Excuse me if I do not do the splits and shake the pom poms with you Habs.

The more I watch the more I want Martin and Gainey tossed.

Sorry, but those days are gone forever my friend. This is a 30 team league now, not 6 or 12, and the talent is dispersed amoungst all of them, not just one team.These are different times, not the 50's or even the 70's. With a salary cap, it's now a near guarantee there will never be a dynasty again. The Wings are as close as it gets.

Rubes you really are whiner.

You compare the habs to the habs of old....and you will be sour the rest of your life about your team because of it.

"they easily could have lost"

like everyone goal one game I've ever seen

Caps hit the post. that would have tied it by the way...notgiven them the loss that would make you happy).........and Max missed a wide open net. Bounces at the end of the day go both ways genious.

"They easily could have lost"......like the Wings lost, like the Pens got smoked the other night. Like the Flames with the best D in the league lost 7-2. It happens.

btw..............the D that is horrendous on the habs....injured, missing their best guy, slow .......shut down OV and the high scoring Caps in their own building.................hey but ya know what............"the Habs could have lost" a man short for the final 2 minutes with a 6th attacker on......duh no kidding.

how enlightning.........rubes4skin.......taking lessons from him now are ya rubes. Habs are not suppose to just win....they have to blow teams out to impress the mighty rubes. Boy needs a reality check.

according to you that Hab team was supposed to get smoked on a Friday night in Washington......but don't worry rubes.......they will get smoked sometime soon........then you'll be feeling good because that's what you cheer for ..... you being right. ( ;

GO HABS

btw................doing better at the 20 game mark than you forcasted Rubes.......they messing up your rep as a know it all are they? ( ;

Rubes is being quite the Debbie Downer lately. Maybe he needs a little blue pill to make him happy again. If my team was missing its best dman and best forward and still beat the Mighty Caps in their own barn, I don't think I'd be that grumpy. It is one thing to have high expectations for your club, but it is another to be a realist and enjoy the moment.

well in your generation Pierre Larouche was on the fourth line.

"still feel that way".........that's fine Rubes.......but in the future when we are discussing this "generation".... join in or shut up. Applying your generations hockey to a discussion about this ones..............reality check buddy.........you still trying to buy a house for 40 grand too?

IMHO, the Habs played an awesome game. I too am from the generation when MTl was expected to win every year (68-69, the seventies,'86 and '93). As it was said, those dynasty years are the Habs GLORIEUX (Glorious)years. History....
It takes a pretty cunning and builder for the futur type of g-m to bring forth a team that may resemble the Wings.
Now, Martin can not make the mistake of taking the net away from Price if he has an off game. It's obvious to see that the Price that we saw a few years ago is back. He's showing emotion, he's on his game, and now it is time to make him what he was brought in to be : he's supposed to be the concession player and the #1 goalie. The kids is bound to see some not so good games. So what, throw him back in the next game. The past five or six games, Price has shown he's got fire in his eyes, and has been up for the challenge.
I'll agree with Habs, the Canadiens have shown that they can stand up to adversity and play well, while their best assets are on the mend.
Looking at the ups and downs this team has seen so far, 3 points out of 4 against 2 top teams is a mission well accomplished in my books. I'm still looking for Gainey's head, but I also know that Martin IS the coach for this team. He's a no nonsense type of coach, and he'll set those "twenty-something" mavericks in their place.

...and that makes what difference?...It could've been José Théodore in net, and it would've probably been the same results. Varlamov is still a backup goalie. The front part of the Caps is stalled, and it's obvious that Ovetchkin isn't fully mended...The Caps hit a speed bump during the weekend. So "haaaaaaaaa" sounds a bit lame and retarded, wouldn't you think so?!
