Well, I sat down to last nights Oilers/Kings contest last night and was pleasantly surprised, once again. After giving the Ducks all they could handle the night before, and losing a heartbreaker, the kids came through last night with yet another inspired effort, but this time it resulted in a win. The play was back and forth with chances galore and fantastic goaltending on both sides.
Jeff Deslauriers is cementing his place in Oil folklore with a scintilating 41 save performance.
Dustin Penner showed his dominance once again with a superb effort, including a laser beam goal in regulation, and a nifty move in the shootout with hands most men his size would kill for. Gilbert Brule hit everything that moved, and should have had a couple goals for his efforts, but he made up for it with a beauty in the shootout.
Here in Edmonton, we appreciate efforts like this, unlike some Hab fans, who whine and complain even when their team wins. Pathetic.
