  Forward Rowan Barrett has been "down under" for the past couple of seasons in South America. He played pro in Venezuela this year and averaged 20 points per game with the Boca Juniors in the Argentine pro league in 1999. He was invited to the Toronto Raptors training camp in 1997 and 1998 and the Philadelphia 76ers camp in 1999.

  At the Pan Am Games last year, he was fourth in scoring averaging 13.5 points per game. He graduated from St. John's University in 1996 and majored in business management. His company Next Level does motivational speaking camps, clinics and sports consulting.

Sept. 30: Canada def. Russia 86-83 in double overtime to finish in seventh place overall.
Sept. 28: Men: Canada lost 68-63 to France in quarter-final game; advances to playoff for seventh or eighth place.
Sept. 25: Canada def. Yugoslavia 83-75 to wind up in first place in Pool B with a 4-1 record, qualifying to meet France in the quarter-finals.
Sept. 23: Canada lost 77-59 to Russia, dropping 3-1 in Pool B.
Sept. 21: Men: Canada def. Spain 91-77, lifting record to 3-0 and advancing to quarter-finals.
Sept. 19: Men: Canada def. Angola 99-54, raising record to 2-0 in Pool B.
Sept. 17: Canada def. Australia 101-90 in first preliminary round game.
