Kate Richardson confirmed her status as one of Canada's brightest gymnastics prospects winning the Olympic trials competition this past July. It was the first time she had placed first all around in senior national competition. Her biggest thrill was helping Canada win team gold at the Pan Am Games last year. She was also a respectable 19th overall at the 1999 world championships in China.

"I want to get my start values up and get new skills and to gain experience as a senior," said Richardson.
